Hello,
I have got a mini 2440 and I can't make it work 
I have connected the power I can see the red led is on but nothing happen.
is there a jumper or something I need to change?

I have notice that if I connect the USB A male to the computer I can see it
works.
but it doesn't recognize the device in the device manager (I have win7-
X64)

any help will be good

If you are the distro that came on the machine or on the DVD I don't think
a PC is going to recognise it.  Think the keyword to search for here is USB
gadget.  Try searching on the forum.

I would suggest that you get the device working as it comes before you
start re-compiling kernels etc.

Should be a good starting point as far as getting the basic machine
working.

With the NOR/NAND in the NAND position it should boot to Qtopia (an old
windows manger)

The manual suggested by @davef is a good starting point.

Since you are using Win 7 (x64), you will need a 64-bit driver for the DNW
utility used to download binary files to the board. You can find it here:

Scroll down till you come to the link for the RAR file containing the
driver installer.
