I downloaded the 2.6.32.2 Linux kernel with the mini2440 additions compiled it for WIFI & DHCP and its size is 2.4M. Using the dnw tool on Windows I press 'x','v' with supervivi-128M but it hangs when I perform the 'k' with the zImage. I previously have compiled the linux 2.6.9 ver is a directory right beside the other kernel on the same Fedora PC and it was under 2M and had no problems. Could there be a hardware limitation for my board? What an I missing? The reason I wanted to update the kernel was that the RTL2070 USB WIFI does not work on the old kernel. Can I just copy the drivers/wireless/rt2000 folder from the new kernel to the old and recompile? The TP-LINK TL-WN321G USB dongles come in both 2050 & 2070 chips versions. We need to support both. Any help would be appreciated.
Linux ver 2.6.32.2 transfer hangs
Just a faint recollection but some people seemed to be changing the size of the area allowed for the kernel. Search <2.4 kernel size>? http://www.friendlyarm.net/forum/topic/541 http://www.friendlyarm.net/forum/topic/661
Thanks. I resolved that problem by changing the partition sizes with the vivi parts commands increasing the kernel size and updated to kernel 2.6.32.2. Now that I have the new kernel, I checked the USB WIFI driver for the TL-WN321G dongle with the rt2070 chip. The same dongle with the rt2050 chip works. I also installed the new wifi kit and the data I received is show in the kit thread http://www.friendlyarm.net/forum/topic/1479#lastpost Any help at all would be nice. thanks
