Error in Uboot shell - Unknown command 'mmcinit'

Tuxerito
Hi All.

When I try to config Uboot to boot from a SD, I got a error when execute
mmcinit or mmc init in the Uboot shell, the error is
Unknown command 'mmcinit' - try 'help'.

The same problem when I execute fatload, ext2load or ext3load.

This is the version of Uboot
U-Boot 1.1.6 (Sep 17 2010 - 11:46:32) for FriendlyARM MINI6410

Anyone can help me? :)

Thanks.

Andreas
Same probleme here....

other solution:

Try the SD-Tool from the orginal DVD and put your superboot kernel and
rootfs there....

B.t.w. if you try to boot from SD card with the orginal kernel it fails on
my board.. it cannot mount the rootfs.... but if i press reset the
following boot runs through...
But my 16GB Adata SDHC card shows up blockerrors (but only on the MINI6410)
also my 1GB Kingston... i have made good expereience with Kingston 8gb sdhc
cards. But no one of them runs through with the first boot

Good luck anyway

Hi, thanks for answer.

I have a Kingmax 8GB Class 10 SDHC.

I wanna install Debian on the SD and boot from it, but I can't configure
Uboot.

Only one time the system ran from the SD but I delete all files of the SD.
and now I can't do the same.

Hi guys,

Did you try this version?

http://www.friendlyarm.net/forum/topic/1922

My 4gb SDHC card is correctly detected with it, but had not enough time to
install a full distro on the card for the moment.

Good luck

Tuxerito
Hi Screwface.

I will try in night that Uboot version.
Thanks :)

Tuxerito
Doesn't work.

The same error "Unknow command" trying mmcinit, ext3load fat2load.

If I try boot the Kernel from NAND and try mount the root file system from
de SD, I obtain a Kernel Panic when tray to mount the file system.

I am frustated.

Probably you have a different problem. If u-boot stated that unknown
command command isn't available. I have 1.3.2 version and mmcinit works
like sharm (check for typos?) or type mmc and TAB should fill command.

Andreas
Ups sorry in my case its the Mini6410... not the Mini2440

my Mini2440 Uboot runs perfect...
