Unable to talk to Mini2440 via DNW

Hello,

Has anyone had trouble communicating with the Mini2440 via DNW? I have two
mini2440 and suddenly I'm not being able to send commands to one of them.
Strange thing is that the mini2440 loads perfect to the OS in flash memory
and when in nor it loads the bios but when I type a command it wont read
it!! Any ideas or suggestions?!

Thanks!!

Hi,

Maybe its a problem with the serial cable. Have you tried another one?

Andreas

Yup... I tried with both of my cables and I'm still not able to send
commands via DNW. :(

Hi,

I've nearly the same problem. I can't connect the Mini2440 through DNW. I
think the main problem is that the usb driver doesn't work. I tried out
both ways to install the usb driver. The driver setup passed through
without any problems (like it seemed to me). At the manually installation I
copied the "SECBULK.sys" to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and selected the
"SECBULK.inf" at the Windows driver installation interface but it can't
install it. I thought the board may be damaged but as I connected it to a
vga display linux booted up normally. So does anyone have an idea to solve
this problem.

Well, I got a hint that solved my problem...just switch on the NOR-Flash
and power up the board again. Now my PC recognize the board and even the
driver fits.

Hi wanderer,

Do you have solve your problem?

From several months, the communication between my mini2440 and DNW works
well but today, I have exactly the same problem as you!

Hello,

I don't know if it helps, but I encountered a similar problem a few days
ago. My mini2440 which has always worked correctly refused to send traces
on PC terminal. I tried on several hosts but got no message from the mini,
even in NOR BIOS mode. For a reason I don't know, when I used the BIOS in a
"blind" way, all the actions I requested were executed correctly but still
with no trace on the terminal.

I plugged the serial cable in the other way, and don't ask me why, it
worked. Now I'm able to get traces on the terminal and send commands to the
mini. I don't know what was the problem as a serial cable should be
symetrical, and I checked before that everything was correctly plugged...

regards

Heard of this happening before. Try turning the cable around and see if
the problem comes back.

The only thing that comes to mind, if a wire breaks off one terminal AND
then connects to another active terminal I could see the cable "looking"
different from both ends.
