Porting Win CE

Alex
Can anyone link me to the complete user manual that describes how to port
WinCE onto the device? I noticed the user manual gets chopped off at page
30 :( and porting the OS is on page 109.

Its not really a port its all about Windows platform builder.

You will see the BSP's and SDK's in the download area - Board Support
Package and Software development kit (drived and built fom the BSP)

Think you need to start reading up on windows ce 5 or 6

start at the top and work down - lots of downloading.....

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/products/windowsce/gettin...

then its about getting those BSP open with all that installed software and
chosing components

Thanks for the reply adam.

The manual makes it very clear how to install the OS but when I boot in
NOR, the BIOS does not come up. My hyperterminal remains blank. I'm able to
transfer files through serial on DNW though, does anyone else have this
problem?

I had similar problem - when you programed the nand it would run ce
straight away but failed to start after a reboot. I had an older version of
supervivi - as the last option in supervivi it should say [i] 0945-2K or
something very similar (dont have the gear to hand) - use the supervivi
attached - as be ware the different LCD types i have 128mb 7" so its the
A70 version

Have you checked the serial cable (straight) and is the com port setting
correct?

I've flashed it using the serial port and DNW onto the device but
hyperterminal is still blank. If i connect with DNW, it says in Hyper
Terminal that the port is being used.

Are you using the menu in DNW "Serial Port->Connect"? - i dont really know
what is the question. I would usually forget about hyperterminal - just
connect the min2440 using the "Serial Port->Connect" AND press return to
ensure the menu comes up. Also not if the usb link is "OK2 in the title
menu. if the bios is shot the JTAG can be used to bring it back up - just
follow the friendly arm guide for H-JTAG

Hmm, I thought I was doing it correctly but I guess not. I connected the
serial cable and then went to device manager to check which port (COM 4). I
then set the buad rate to 115200. When I press connect it shows [COM4,
115200bps] but when I press return it doesn't show the bootmenu.

I am testing my own BSP with SPI,GPIO,IIC,French/German/English Locales on,
with 7" screen plus silverlight.

I think we are in same boat perhaps - I am coming from
electronics/automation background and am using this as a get-up-to-date
exercise!

Or could you tell me how to install wince in english, I've manage to
