ISSUES WITH MINI2440 KIT

Dayal rai
Hi all,

I have recently purchased a mini2440 board but having some problem:

The kernel inbuild is 2.6.32 but the CD in kit contains source code for
kernel 2.6.13,
The documents i received are not for that board which i got, all the
specification are mismatching like NAND size, Kernel version etc.

Is there any solution for this thing?
or if there is any link where i can get documents for the board i got then
please send some information regarding that.

thanks in advance.
with regards
dayal

That is an old kernel. My year old 64M machine came with a DVD with 2.6.29
on it. I assume machines from the beginning of this year would have
2.6.32.2 but someone else who has got one recently would know.

What information do you want? All that has changed over the last year or
so is flash size and the brand of touchscreen. Do you know what flash size
you have got? What kernel you run on it is your choice and I haven't found
anywhere that describe in relatively simple language how they differ.

You will hear recommendations to stick with kernel so and so. Also, that
some things might be broken in certain kernels. But, you only find these
things out the hard way :(

2.6.32.2 seems to be a good one to start with and this stage . . . to keep
using until you get several knowledgeable people telling you what the
benefits of an upgrade would be.

Before doing your own kernel work it would be worthwhile reading relevant
posts on this site.

Good luck!

Have you checked the downloads page for
Mini2440 Manual ?

Source code for 2.6.32.2

You will find the "real" 2.6.32.2 at www.kernel.org however be aware that
FriendlyArm have made changes to that code to get it to work on this
platform.

On the dowmloads page get:
Linux 2.6.32.2 (2010-01-13)
untar it and have a look at the code.

I think it is only
mach-mini2440.c
that gets modified.

Thanks once again for quick reply

Can you please locate me the path where I can download the Mini2440 Kernel
2.6.32.2?

I downloaded the standard kernel 2.6.32.2 but i did not find the YFFS2
filesystenm related code .

Please provide me also the prebuilt Filesystem images and source code if
possible.

Thanks

size of image by removing some modules but Is it possible to download image
