is there a way to show a picture while the os image is being loaded? I already show a picture of friendlyarm wince5.0... but before that I have about 2 seconds of black screen is this possible? if it is, how? thank you all
there are only two images, boot logo, and wall paper. Wallpaper is easiest, boot logo can be changed by StartLogoMaker.exe, it creates a StartLogo.c, this 'c' file should be used while rebuilding winCE image. If u already have created a startlogo.c, then nothing more can be done. Let me know if you need further help.
Fernando, It sounds like your 1'st boot logo is missing, or your boot loader doesn't show anything. Do you at any point see a bar at the bottom move from left to right? Is that before or after or during the black screen? Anurag, there are two boot screens. 1. Shows while the loaded image is booting. This one must be changed as you suggest. 2. The other boot image is the first boot image and is shown by the boot loader while it copies the image from NAND into RAM. That is changed by uploading an image via SuperVivi. Thank you, Errol
First of all, thank you both guys. I am already generating my own startlogo.c, and the blackscreen i am referring to is before this startlogo shows up. In other post I found the modified nboot that you made Errol, and it worked for me, it appears the progress bar and I uploaded a bmp to show in the back of it. When the progress bar finishes, it makes a flicker (does this happen to you too?) and then it shows the startlogo. You say you can modify the nboot with ADS? What is that? I dont find it in the cd... I would like, for example, to change the colour of the progress, just to learn and test. Thanks a lot Errol, you are really helping me get started!!! Fernando
It's a pleasure. Yes, mine also flickers between images. That is when WinCE starts booting and it reinit the screen. The ADS is on the CD. Just look through all the Chinese named folders. There is a crack for it too if i remember correctly. I'll post the source for the modified boot loader tonight. I didn't change much though and the standard source is on the download page.
