Qutopia does not recognize USB or SD.

Fred
Nothing happens when conntecting an SD card or a usb flash drive in
Qutopia. Do I have to enable this somewhere?

 Thanks

   Fred,

davef
Nope. Mine worked out of the box.

Go into terminal do a <ls>, then plug in the SD card and wait a few seconds
then do another <ls>. You should now see that unit appear in your
directory list.

And they should stay there.

Fred
Thanks, tried that but it still does not appear.
Then I tried cardctl eject, and go the message; cardctl not found.

 Got any clue?
I am getting rather frustrated with the whole card now..

Tom
Do you use the newest Qtopia image?

Fred
Yes, the 2.2 version....

davef
in /dev do you see usbdev1.1_ep00 or perhaps a variation on that? You
could try <dmesg> You are going to get a bucket load of information, but I
see my USB hub and heaps of usb stuff in there.

There could be other commands to determine what is is "connected", as I am
not much more than a beginner.

Fred
Thanks Davef, you certainly are much less of a beginner than I am :)
I did find the usb drive with <dmesg> but it did not show up anywhere else.

Found a 1gb flash drive this morning, and voilą, it showed up at once.
Strange?
