wifi pen VNT6656 very slow with WinCE 5

jeangr
I have a problem with the wifi pen recommended by FriendlyARM (VIA VT6656).
Just I insert it, the operating system slows down and the pen can not find
available networks. I am using WinCE 5 BSP (2010-02-02). This BSP has a
2006 driver version. So I upgraded to version V. 1.46 (2007) and then to V.
1.74 (2009 )but the problem remains.
I inserted some catalog item that is disturbing? Or lacks some catalog
item?

I made a lot of images with an empty catalog items, adding the wifi driver,
but the problem persists. Also the images that worked previously have the
same problem (operating system slow and no networks found). The only change
was upgrading the bootloader with the JTAG ...
nobody has an image with this pen WiFi on 7-inch (or 3,5-inch) screen for
me?

I partially solved the problem: I removed from the catalog items these
deviceDrivers->USBfunction->USBfunctionClients -> "SERIAL" & "Mass Storage"
leaving
Now my problem is that the wifi is in conflict with the multiserial. Or
works the wifi or works multiserial (I use the FT2232H chip, I'm using both
the driver D2XX (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm) that the VCP
(http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm))...

jeangr
for my conflicts between usb devices connected to an hub usb, I decided to
use a ethernet-wifi-bridge and not a usb-wifi-pen...
so I use a normal access point in "client mode"

Gian
Jeangr I'm trying to connect using ethernet but its not working. Can u
explain me how you do it?

jeangr
you have to set your access point (my is netgear WG602) in "client mode"
and put a right ip
Can you see an example here in 4th section:

I faced the same problem, I think that driver is a hoax, I suspect it was
compiled for x86 architecture. I notice something unusual in the readme
file -> is there such a thing as "CEPC:ARMV4I" or modified from the
original document "CEPC:X86?? I really have doubt about the driver.

I have searched the web for months and no lucky in finding a driver that
can work under wince5 for ARM. VIA do not release driver for ARM, I tried
installed all version of the drivers released and found out they are only
for x86.

Hopefully someone can get it working in ARM and release the driver to
everyone who needs it

I just found someone posted a driver which works in Wince6.0. I tried it
and it works smoothly. Check out discussion thread title "VNWLC6 CE 6.0
