Controlling stepper motors.

I bought the mini2440 to use as a controller for two,later three stepper
motors. For a three axis pan & tilt camera head. Could someone please
recommend me some good stepper controllers that connect to the mini2440?

Depends on the current you need.
I suggest a visit to www.cnczone.com. These guys are into CNC and have lots
of step motor controllers. 
If you know a bit of electronics I suggest a simple controller IC the UCN
5804. You can drive a small step motor only with a few components.
