NANOPI NEO-AIR WIFI IS NOT WORKING

I tested the below guideline found on wiki but I can't get link up. (no
ipaddr from ipconfig wlan0)

Insert a TF card with eflasher to a PC running Ubuntu and make the
following changes in the etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf file under
the rootfs section:

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
network={
        ssid="YOUR-WIFI-ESSID"
        psk="YOUR-WIFI-PASSWORD"
}
Note: the "YOUR-WIFI-ESSID" and "YOUR-WIFI-PASSWORD" need to be replaced
with your actual ESSID and password.
Save, exit and insert the TF card to your AIR. After power on your AIR and
the blue LED is blinking for one minute you will be able to check AIR's IP
address.

I think that wifi driver is working because I can scan wifi networks like
below.. but.. it is strange why the network link is not going up.
if you have any reason, pls let me know..

Why do you ask hostname?

It was the only thing that came to mind.  Maybe it was incorrect or spelt
differently.

stuxnet 
I've had the same issue as mentioned by user: hj park

I booted up a ubuntu computer, touched/edited the wpa_supplicant.conf in
the correct folder. Nothing, wont connect.

The wifi is also working since:
sudo iwlist wlan0 scan

command lists all nearby ssids. Whats the solution to this? Why are the
docs for this board on the FriendlyArm wiki not correct?

stuxnet 
The culprit/fix for this issue, is that following the directions found
here:

http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_NEO_Air#Get_Started

to get the wifi running by altering the wpa_supplicant.conf from within an
Ubuntu environment, you have to be running off FriendlyArm's
nanopi-air-eflasher-sd8g.img

NOT the base image, nanopi-air-core-qte-sd4g.img

To be fair it does mention this in the provided wiki link, however only
briefly and not enough to make it seem required and limited to the eflasher
image.
