hi,

i have micro2440 256MiB nand when i show partition for root i have
0x3FA80000 for the size ?

0x3FA80000 = 1GB

i have only 256mo in my board.

must i part the root to 256 MiB ?

thanks in advance.

andromeda
the title for my post is [Micro2440] 0x3FA8000 for root partition and not
for toort.

Even on a 256M Flash you can't set the root size to 256M as there are a few
other things MAY have to go into flash.

For example (64M dev board):

0: u-boot 0x00040000 0x00000000 0
1: env 0x00020000 0x00040000 0
2: kernel 0x00500000 0x00060000 0
3: root 0x03aa0000 0x00560000 0

3aa000 is 61472768. The rest add up to 5636096, which comes to a total of
67,108,864. If you have u-boot in NOR I guess this could give you a bit
more room.

There was another post recently where the owner realised that he REALLY did
have a 1GB flash not 256M as he thought.

Part number on your flash?

Are you using the a u-boot from buserror?

andromeda
i have u-boot-nand2k.bin that i have compiled.

part number from my flash ? hown can i see my part number ?

thx

davef
Part number? Magnifying glass and read it off the flash chip.
