want to hide u boot console output with an image

Hi all,
I'm new to Linux and working Ubuntu 12.04 on ARM architecture. This has
u-boot bootloader.
My objective is to, when device is powered on, an image(configurable) has
to displayed until Ubuntu loads up. I'm unable to compile Plymouth on arm.
Please suggest me a direction from where I can start the work.
