Hi, I am using Mini2440 in my project. I think my COM ports have been damaged by abusing and COM1 and COM3 are out of work. Is it possible to change S3C2440A or not? If yes, what should i do? Is it necessary to program S3C2440A after replacing? any other problem or suggestion? Thanks for your kindness.
I have heard of people replacing BGA devices in the "backyard". I have 40 years of electronics hardware design experience with parts like this and I would not even attempt it. Why not use an SD card to load your kernel in and to run your root filesystem from? Or do you need the COM ports for something else? Maybe, a USB to RS232 converter could do that job.
