Unable to play test.wav via /dev/dsp

Please help to configure audio on linux-3.2. Also i came across the blog
that, since 3.2 kernel audio is broken. So by any chance can we get 3.1
kernel from Pengutronix BSP? I mean, can we specify a specific kernel to be
picked in for Pengutronix BSP?

on my target:
$ cat test.wav > /dev/dsp
^C
$

No audio is heard and no logs in dmesg.

Please help to configure audio.

I could manage to get 3.1 kernel compiled and make the audio work :)
