WINCE AND COM3 SERIAL RS232

JPP
Hello, I have problems with micro2440 and COM3 SERIAL RS232 in wince 6,
sometimes can not open the port, and a reboot is the only solution. Does
anyone have a solution?, Thanks

I am not familiar with WINCE on these boards but I recall many years ago
working with CE in that if your application crashed or exited without
closing the serial ports, you could not re-open them on restarting your
application. The only recourse was to reboot the device.

Looks like this issue still exists so can I ask if this happens during
either a crash or exit of your app without closing the com port?

Hi Dave, I appreciate your feedback. when starting the application (since
reset) sometimes can not open the serial port COM3, and I must reboot
several times until I get it, but I just happen to COM3, COM1 and COM2
always work perfectly.

I thought it was something related to the serial driver (BSP) and RX and TX
(COM3) signals that can function as RTS and CTS (COM2) but I honestly do
not know.

Hi any news on this?

I have a lot of problems opening COM3 port after I plugged in VIA VT6656.
In the beginning I only had a problem here and there, then after a few days
of usage I cannot open COM3 even after several restarts and unplugging
VT6656. I don't have this problem if I don't use VT6656.

Thanks,
Andreja

Similar issue here, with Mini2440 and Win CE 5.0, COM3 port doesn't read or
write any data. I haven't found any case in which it works, so far. Any
suggestions of things to try would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
