Thats a serial port communication issue, not a language issue :) The language is clearly english, but the output is corrupted. (bad baudrate / parity / data bits settings / bad cable)
try with minicom and see what is the result and try to install serial port terminal from ubuntu software center and open the menu from configuration and see the /dev/ttyUSB? if it is the same error i think u need to change the cable :)
