I have a mini2440 with 1gb NAND flash.I want to connect using the serial port. But when i power on the device with NOR flash in operation, i do not get any menu on hyperterminal.I am using hyperterminal present in windows XP. bits per second: 115200 Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Flow control: none Please tell me how to go about it if anything is wrong ?
No menu in hyperterminal
You have the correct serial cable connecting the mini2440 to the PC? Not a cross-over or null modem cable for the mini2440. Use a straight thru cable. The one that should have come with the kit. For your other post, I'd suggest sorting out this problem first.
I checked again and there is no use.I can see no menu even with the serial cable provided with the kit.
Sounds like you have "managed" to kill Supervivi in NOR. So, this unit worked then you did what to it? Before you go off re-loading the bootloader, have you got another mini2440 that you can check your setup with.
From the day i bought this unit i never saw the menu whenever i tried to use hyperterminal. This unit booted from NAND with pre-installed qtopia.I have done nothing as i have purchased this unit just a week ago. So now its like neither i can see the menu in hyperterminal and nor can i booth from NAND as mentioned in the other post.So what shall i do ?
And yeah i do not have an other mini 2440.Actually i need to do a project for which i need to burn my custom made linux kernel and my own software. Now i do not know what problem i am stuck in.
Try an echo/loopback test to check the serial cable (disconnect the mini2440, short rx and tx and send data from the PC).
Since you are using Windows, just in case it is a hyperterminal problem, try the DNW utility on the DVD. It is a simple executable and has a terminal built in, and will do downloads over USB and all that stuff.
Try Changing the Cable Connections , i.e. exchange the D-type connector connected to board and PC . It should work.
