Win CE 6.0 OS Building Problem

Hi.

I'm trying to build the given Windows CE 6.0 OS project in the downloads
section but it gives 22 errors. I have tried to clone the given bsp with
the guidance from microsoft learning center videos but the result is the
same. What am i doing wrong ? Some people says they build it successfully
but how ?

I have installed windows embedded ce6.0 trial + R2 + R3 updates
Platform builder R1 for CE 6.0 and visual studio 2005 R1.
I also installed WinCEPB60-R3-2009-Update-Rollup-Armv4I too.

I'm trying again and again, waiting 45 min long building times and it
always fails i'm about to give up.

I have atteched the error list and platform.bib please help.

Hi.

I have found a BSP for another processor. When i clone it and try to build
it gives errors but when i use the demo project which comes with it, it
builds without errors. Although i choose the same drivers and same system
components. I can't find the reason but there must be sometihing missing.

Has any one had same kind of experience before, any suggestions ?

I've just installed WinCE 5.0 on my FriendlyArm Board mini2440.

I've dowloaded from the website the WinCe 6.0 bsp but I don't know how to
build it... where I can find an already built image? something like the CE
5.0 on the DVD?

Hi Turkay Pekturk,

Have you tried building the included platform builder project?

Look in C:\WINCE600\OSDesigns\Mini2440\

What build options are you using?
I'm using "Build and sysgen", but it gives me also a lot of errors

I use everything as it is set up when i open the project. On the menu i
click "Build" then "Build Mini2440". If i get errors then i Clean then
Build.

The only thing i change is to select the correct LCD in:
C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\Mini2440\SRC\INC\options.h

Build And Sysgen sounds like WinCE5 not 6.

Hi Errol,

I'm using the given BSP and included project for CE6.0.
Although it gives many errors it builds NK.bin . When i download the NK.bin
to the board it seems operating good but a after some time while navigating
through the menus device freezes and never responses. 
There should be something missing, i have to solve this problem.

Hi Errol,

The attached error list is available at the first message.
They are mostly like 
Error  18  ENDIF expected. 
C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\TestBSP_2440\FILES\platform.bib
You can find platform.bib in the attchment too. I have checked it but found
nothing out of order.

That log still refers to TestBSP_2440. That isn't the included BSP or the
included project that i use...

Hi Errol,

Sorry for that. I attached the latest build output. If you have an output
of your project please send me. I would make comparison. 

There are many warnings also, and they usually point to non existent
directories or files. Do you have them ?

You seem to have an error while building AMD BSP's component.
In my projet, this component is excluded from build : look in solution
explorer, open following tree : 
Solution 'Mini2440'\mini2440\c:\wince600\Platform\mini2440\src\common\
You must see following list of components : abort, AMD, cache, intr, etc...
In my projet, AMD component is grey an its name is "AMD (excluded from
build)"

I get 50 warnings, but no errors.

Included is my log, but keep in mind that i have really been messing around
with my build... :-)

Hi.

Many thanks for your helps. Finally i did it. 

The steps that i follwed are as below :

1. I deleted everything inside the PLATFORM and OSDesigns directories.
2. I copied only the directory named COMMON into the PLATFORM directory
from a backup of it.
3. I run the Mini2440-CE6-Suite-1001.exe 
4. I opened the project with visual studio and deselect the SQL Compact
option from Catalog View. (It causes an error on reginit.ini)
5. I run the build and it succeeded.

{I forgot to change the language to English. I have to rebuild it :( }

I havent tested it yet. I wish it will not get frozen while using.

I downloaded wince6.0 BSP, is there a procedure out to build it with wince
6.0 on mini2440?

im building a wince image with the PLATFORM builder and it dose have some 
errors on SD Card Driver . 
can any body help 
i have four error on the project 
and all of them came from the driver
i also used dodoom website instructions

I am building a project in Platform Builder 5.0.

In the Project explorer menu under drivers some folders shows (excluded
from build).

how to remove this ?

It's taking more than an hour to build the OS . 
Does Anybody has tips on reducing this time ?????

@ravindra : i think u need to right click the source files of drivers to be
included in the explorer and select the option "Include in build" ( or
something similar ) .

hi expert..i'm newbie using arm mini 2440.
i am sorry, i have problem in win ce mini 2440.
i change password in system of win ce and then i turn off mini 2440.
after that i turn on but the screen just show date and "welcome to Win CE".
i couldn't access program win ce..
how to repair this?
