Hi friends , I recently purchased a mini2440 development board . I am trying to use jtag for debugging and programming . However , Nor and Nand flash are not listed in even the latest h-jtag software . The board is detected but the flash id doesn't matches to any similar flash device that I tried out . My NAND flash is K9K8G08 and Nor flash is Spansion's S29AL016J70 . Any suggestions to my problem ?????
Just focus on the NOR flash. I see your NOR is not listed on the downloads page and your NOR flash is not supported in H-JTAG v0.4.4 I see that version was built in 2007 and there are lots of much newer ones at: http://www.hjtag.com/download.html If they aren't free tell FriendlyArm or your distributor about this problem.
well.....thanks for the reply.............. actually i already had downloaded ver1.1 but didn't found my device in the list . however , i have checked the data-sheet of that particular flash device and it says that its compatible with S29AL016D device which indeed is the h-flasher device list . i have tried with that device selection , but the results are random . Sometimes it shows error loading the driver . On other times it programs but at the end shows "timeout : something has gone wrong message " Can't figure out what the problem is ????? :-(
Sorry, thought you meant latest on the downloads page. Funny that no one seems to have mentioned this before, perhaps your flash is different then the standard 1G product. It looks like there is a forum at H-JTAG. Perhaps try there. Still I would have a chat with the distributor. Good luck.
yeah , even i didn't see any mention in any forum about this . Seems to be a very recent change probably . nd because of this i hav got myself into deeper trouble because the nor flash bootloader is gone now . so, no serial downloading is possible before i fix this one ....... i tried to read back the flash and it seems that only first few sectors seem to be matching the supervivi file . Rest are written with 0xFF .
Until this problem is sorted, do you think it would be appropriate to warn people about the source of these 1G mini2440s? Everyone expects to be able to restore a bricked dev board OR to be able to put other bootloaders into them and then restore the original one, if they want to.
well , even though i don't find any reason why it shouldn't be working . but yes , i think it would be appropriate to suggest that . Update to my problem : It has now completely stopped detecting in nor flash mode . However in nand flash mode i was able flash it with the latest available supervivi-128 and it got verified too . And now it is showing on dnw window : load Image of Linux... Wrong Linux Kernel However , USB is not connected . Searching out for , how to get out of all this mess ............. :-(
I have accurred the problem that H-JTAG is not program to the nor flash of S29AL016J90TFI02 - Spansion I usesd to H-JTAG v1.0 sometimes, it is well to write to the nor flash of S29AL016J90TFI02 - Spansion Why is it.... I think that the H-JTAG is not support the Spansion maker
Seems to be general conclusion. As suggested above I would complain to the distributor. It is VERY difficult to believe that there is not an application that will do this job and is readily available. Good luck
