Hi to all. Does anybody know what control lines are needed in order to connect successfully a GPRS modem to a serial port. As far as I know, the DB9 connector in COM0 has only RTS and CTS. It would be great if some one can tell if he or she have been able to connect a Mini2440 board to internet through a GPRS modem. Thanks in advance, and best regards.
Control lines with GPRS.
I'm connecting to several different modems (GPRS, 3G, HSUPA) via serial port but its a discrete software implementation with my own expansion board. Generally the modem would need RTS and CTS but I just connect them so that they manage themselves. It all depends on what modem you are using. Becuase I'm using a GSM module I also need to power up and set the ignition lines for the module. What GPRS engine are you using?
Hi bluscape Thanks for your answer. At this time I have not picked a modem, but i am considering the following: WAVECOM Q2403A http://www.andahammer.com/g2403m/ SIM900 http://www.open-electronics.org/products-page/product-category/breakout-... O maybe Siemens MC56 (although I have not find a vendor yet). I discard the USB modems, bacause I could not find a reputable brand that supports Windows CE. Can I ask, why do you need an extra expansion board in your application? Thanks,
