Difference in Qt API between arm board and x86 system

Hi,
I wanted to know what is the difference between the Qt API which is
supplied for the x86 and Qt-Embedded/Qtopia comes with a board ? Can the
same image to use Qt in Linux, or need to have Linux distributions such as
Ubuntu comes with board?
