Hello, Is there any GPRS/GSM modem which will work with MINI2440 WINCE5.0? Please let me know if anyone had experience using it in America. Thanks.

hi if you can manage your COM port, i think you can use any model that use a COM port (AT commands) regards phil
Hi Phil No you can't as I found with GPRS Modem supplied by Andahammer which connects to the DB9 port. After a lot of investigation we found the basic flow control is just not available on the mini2440. We're looking at USB options now as we know these at least work. Rgds G
Like Phil said, any modem should work with the mini. For complete flow control you can use a USB to serial converter if your modem has a serial interface. I'm not too familiar with WinCE, but it should have a built in modem driver which you can configure to communicate with any standard AT modem on a specified port. This will eliminate the need to manage your modem via AT commands, the driver will do it for you. The modem will then act as a transparent internet connection.
Hi Graham: In the DB9 port CTS and RTS are wired. Did you mean that a GPRS modem needs additional control lines?
