BIOS menu does not load

Hi people. I´m having the following problem:
I´ve downloaded DNW because I need to access the boot options screen to
backup my NAND flash and install Android image. My USB and serial cables
are plugged in and when I open DNW it shows that USB is OK and COM1 port is
connected at [COM1,115200bps]. Apparently is all perfect, as described at
"Downloader Instructions" manual, but the bootloader menu options don´t
appear. My mini2440 boot mode switch is set to NOR flash. I´ve tried to
access from HiperTerminal and I get the same result.

I have no idea about how to solution this problem. Is it possible that
bootloader was erased? Any help is welcome.

Have you got the JTAG adapter?  H-JTAG works well.

Does the board boot linux/wince?

Is your COM port at COM1 and have you tried another serial cable?
Do you also use a USB-to-RS232 converter?

To access the menu, you have to press reset after a successful connection.
Or just turn the board off and on again.

Yes, now the board boots Qtopia linux and I don´t have another serial cable
to test. The cable is new and I don´t think it´s broken.
About the USB-to-RS232 adapter, I don´t have it. Is it necessary? I´m using
a serial cable and a direct USB cable (a usb printer cable).

I press reset button and power on/off and still nothing happens.

I´m still trying more things but it´s still the same.

If the system boots then you should have an output on the serial port.
The serial cable must be straight, not crossed.

No its not necessary - some USB-Adapters make problems.

You were right. My cable was crossed and I replaced by a straight one and
everything worked fine.
