mini2440 audio recording, is it mic issue ?

Booting into default image that came with mini2440, and firing up the audio
recording application, I recorded some voice sample, talking into the
inbuilt mic from about 6 inches away (so I consider it pretty close), but
when I play it back at max. volume, I can barely hear. I fed the headphone
output to an amp, and only then I could hear reasonably, but still the
levels were fairly low.

So wondering, if someone else faced this issue. Is there a way to increase
a the mic gain ? Will it help to replace the default mic with a high
pick-up / high sensitivity mic ?

I've mic issue with full duplex support and audio level and i cant solve it
too,

There is a member suggest me that to replace adc line by new mic(with amp
circus) and re-write driver for that. How do you think? Right now i dont
have time to do that.
