Hi as a newbie to mini2440 i have the following problem. I have upgraded the lcd from 3.5 to 7inch A70. This works fine however it will not boot if the ethernet cable it connected. I have noticed that the supply current at 5v goes to over 1.1amps and the unit shuts down and tries to reboot. If i remove the ethernet cable the draw is just a few miliamps less and will boot ok. Also if i change the lcd back to 3.5inch will boot ok with ethernet cable. Also with the 7 inch lcd connected and the ethernet cable connected it will boot if i up the voltage to 5.1v (I know this is not a good idea) Any thoughts would be apprieciated! I have thought of dimming back light to reduce power, but as i understand it is not possible? Many thanks Spencer
Power overload 2440
Hi I had the same issue with 7inch A70 display. I upgraded the power supply to stronger (>1Amp) to omit the rebooting. Also tried to delay the reset circuit of 2440 to keep it in reset while loading all capacitance and let the back-light to turn on. But then if while running the application it turns the screen black (e.g. for some standby) and then turning it on, would reset the board again. So quick solution was to add more amps to power supply. Mati3
