USB Wifi with 3.7V

Frank
I would like to use a Li-ion battery with a Mini2440, which means I can
probably get about 3.7V (the cellular modem module I plan on using has
built-in Li-ion charging capability). It doesn't look like anything really
needs full 5V on the Mini2440 board itself, just the speaker and the USB
host port. If I only plan on using the USB host port for the Wifi adapter,
does the Wifi adapter need 5V minimum to operate? Or would it work with
3.7V unregulated? What about 3.3V regulated?

just make dc to dc converter for 3.7v lithium ion battery

or use two batteries in series along with switch mode lm2576 regulator
