In the schematics for the Mini2440, there's a USB_5V connected to the USB device port. Where else is this connected? Is it unconnected? I understand that I can't draw more than 500mA from my computer's USB connection, I am unsure of the Mini2440's power consumption. Is it a bad idea to power the Mini2440 with the USB port? How about charging a battery?
Mini2440 USB_5V, where is it connected?
The 5Volt input supplies the whole dev board. Think the limitation is what the capability of 5Volt supply. The plug pack I got can supply 2Amps. The FriendlyArm sucks about 0.6A, this leaves over 1 amp. Powering the FriendlyArm from a USB port? Guess 0.6A suggests you are over the limit. I would be careful about what the voltage drop was when supplying 0.6Amps and also how clean the supply was. Charging a battery? From where? The USB port on the FriendlyArm? What voltage is the battery? Good luck.
