Change SD card partition type

Rodolfo Bandeira
Hello,

I'm trying to install Android in my SD Card (1GB or 2 GB) but I can't
change the partition from FAT16 to Linux and Linux Swap.

My Laptop has a SD reader slot, and, in my linux this device is detected
like this:

debian:/# fdisk -l
Disk /dev/mmcblk0: 1014 MB, 1014497280 bytes
28 heads, 27 sectors/track, 2620 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 756 * 512 = 387072 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/mmcblk0p1 1 2621 990594+ 6 FAT16
debian:/#

When I try to edit the partitions, and set the write option, I've got a
follow message:
"Wrote partition table, but re-read table failed. Reboot to update table."

I tryed to change the partitions from the Qtopia, but (CFDISK, FDISK,
GPARTED) doesn't exists,

Somebody have any tips to help me?

Thanks,
Rodolfo

specifically my comments further down the page:
