GPIO from C++

Hi, I'm new in FrienflyARM platform. I read a lot of information that it's
not so simple to control GPIO. What about if I want to control GPIO
directly from C++ application. Do I need recompile my Kernel?

Try this for a start:  http://farm2440.blogspot.com/  I haven't tried the
GPIO code, but the project compiles and the serial output code worked. 
Don't use his build script blindly.  His install directory was different
from mine, so I had to change the script.
