mail server on mini

HI i need that my mini can send emails, can anybody giveme some ideas where
should i start?

Hi , It all depends on what you mean send e-mail !!!!

If you mean for the mini to send out a email of a event, there are modules
in perl or python  to do that in a couple of lines.

If you mean ( full e-mail server ) you need  , dovecot , fetchmail ,
postfix , procmail , readmail services .

Peter yes i need  a full e-mail server, i read about postfix but im not
sure if i can be install on a embedded system, i need something that can be
cross compile to use on  mini.

I`m not sure if the mini as the horsepower and the right amount of ram to
run a full e-mail server with all the bolt ons. 
I run a torrent server , e-mail server,  web server , music server ,
printer and file server , off my embedded arm plug ( Sheevaplug ) , but
that has the big advantage of 512 megs of ram and faster arm processor.
As  clint eastwood said in magnum force “A man's got to know his
limitations”

thanks peter i didnt know that tecnology its amazing!! how ever my project
in this time its focus on mini2440, im goingo to look for it a little bit,
how ever if you know something else about cross compile an email server
please tellme

I just did it the debian way :-

apt-get install wahtever whatever whatever.

I tried to compile the whole QT install on the mini , which just give up
due to lack of memory.

I`m using the mini2440 for it is , a slow machine which a touch screen and
leave the file serving etc to machine which will do it.
