Connecting an external microphone to micro 2440

Hi, 

I need to connect an external microphone to the CON10 connector of the a
MarkII mini2440 board and need help to solve some issues:
a) What type of microphone can i connect to the external microphone input?
b) What connections should i use?
c) Waht is the CON10 pinout (the schematics pdf is confusing because on the
board we have a 3 pin connector, but in the schematics the connect
designated as CON10 has 4 pins)
