Problem Accessing bootloader menu & loading Windows CE

Gokcer Belgusen
Hi,

   I'm new to Mini2440 | S3C2440 ARM9 Board. When I connect to Mini2440
into my laptop by USB cable and boot from nor flash, I could not access the
suspervivi or any boot screen ?

On my laptop, I do not have any serial port, only USB. When I use the
usb-to-rs232 converter and connect Mini2440 both USB & Serial cable, DNW
program only see the usb port.

What exactly I want to do is to load Mini2440 with Windows Mobile.

Could someone tell me how ? Should I really need to use both USB &
Serial Cable together ?

Regards

Errol
Yes, you need both.

The USB is ONLY used to download the image.

The serial cable is used to access the boot loader and menu.

Thank you for the information. I've usb-to-serial converter, however, when
I use such an adaptor on my laptop, again, I've failed to connect by serial
ports..

any idea ? (drives for usb-to-serial are working fine)

Hi,

did you set COMx in DNW (or any terminal software) with COM assigned to
USB-serial converter?? Those converters changes COM with every change of US
port, so, chek it.

Another thing: in board, switch S2, next to audio plug, it has to be in NOR
position, if not, OS will start loading... mmm... but even then you should
see something in terminal, did you select "Serial Port > Connect"??

See you!

Dear Gokcer
Another problem you must consider is that serial cable must be a straight
serial cable not cross one. It means that pin2 of mini2440 serial port is
connected to pin2 of PC serial port and so on. You can consider it when you
buy or you may build it yourself.
