VGA board puffs

Hello all!

I purchased mini2440 - S3C2440 ARM9 Board + VGA Conversion Module. Power
supply was set at 5V. When I turned it on, a capacitor C38 on VGA board
started making smoke and darken. I had to switch it off and deattach
LCD2VGA. Whats wrong with it? What to do? :s

I would assume these boards have to be at least turned on in the factory as
a rough check of life.

Either your 5Volts is not 5Volts, you hooked up the polarity incorrectly,
the cap was placed in backwards or it was not capable of handling 5Volts.

Replace the cap and hope nothing else is blown up. I'd hope the regulators
would protect the rest of the board if reverse polarity was applied.

Thanks for quick answer!

I couldnt mistmatch polarity, the LEDs were blinking and adapter is from
factory. Replaced the cond, with some 10 µF I've found. The removed one had
resistance 0 Ω. It is drawing random color lines on screen, I suppose
that it should be like that until I upload something.

vivi is answering with menu on COM, but it doesn't respond to a key press,
hehe
