Hi, by mistake I connected 7" version to 12V supply (for a very short time). After this everything was working except backlight of lcd. In this forum I have found information the everything except usb and touch screen controller is protected on this board. Usb is working as well as touch screen. Only thing which seems to be damaged is backlight leds on lcd panel. Any ideas anybody?
backlight not working on 7" lcd
I found a burned fuse on the lcd panel, but changing it to 0R resistor did not work - device is constantly reseting itself. After I remove the 0R device and panel is working as before (backlight not working). Any advices, or lcd panel offers? :)
Someone had a power supply chip problem on a LCD display in this forum. Maybe, get a schematic of the board and try to measure supply voltages.
thanks for tip davef. my board itself is working properly, the only problem (as far as I know) is the backlight circuit on lcd panel, which was damaged when I connect board to the 12v supply. I tried to supply lcd apart of board but the backlight doesn't work. lcd connector placed on the board is providing right voltages. by the way, lack of additional stabiliser for 5V parts is the main tragedy of this board. even single diode at the supply input would help to protect board.
