Character chaos on serial console

Hi,

I bought the mini2440 (256MB) and want to access via serial console.
but whatever I do, the console outputs just character chaos!

Serial interface is configured as followed:

Baud: 115200
Bits: 8n1
Flow control: none

USB and Serial are connected and communication is possible, but when I
power on the board, the console shows only character chaos.

When i connect tx and rx to loopback, the right characters are shown in the
console.

Any idea? Pls help!
