!OEMVERIFYMEMORY: Invalid image

Martin
Hi,

We recently bought a FriendlyARM mini 240 with Linux pre-installed.

We need to install Windows CE 5.0 or 6.0. But I always get the same error
when dowloading the Windows CE 5.0 image to device.

----------------------------------
BIN image type unknow
!OEMVERIFYMEMORY: Invalid image
----------------------------------

Here is what I've tried so far :

1. Switch S2 to NOR FLASH, power on the board and enter BIOS

2. Select "f" to format nandflash

3. Select "v" to download the vivi from :
     - CD-ROM   -> FriendlyARM\WindowsCE5.0\mini2440.pbxml
     - Internet ->
http://www.friendlyarm.net/dl.php?file=supervivi_20091110.zip
(supervivi-128M)

3. Select "n"  to download NBoot.bin from :
     - CD-ROM -> (FriendlyARM\WindowsCE5.0\NBOOT.bin).

4. Select "w" to download Windows CE Image from CD-ROM
     - CD-ROM -> (FriendlyARM\WindowsCE5.0\NK_A70.bin)
     - Internet -> http://www.andahammer.com/FAJan2010/zImage_A70
(supervivi-128M) (Error from this file : Not support raw image !)

Neither of those file/procedure works. I'm discouraged and disappointed, I
do not know what to do...

It would be nice if someone could assist me.

Best regards,
Martin

supervivi I only believe that load through jtag one you see that this
loaded is not necessary to return to load it. he remains resident like your
bios

Martin
I did exactly what you said :

But I'm still getting this error on HyperTerminal while downloading the
NK_A70.bin from : CD-ROM -> (FriendlyARM\WindowsCE5.0\NK_A70.bin)

Similar error while trying the image found on Internet at

Can I do/try something else to get Windows CE installed on this device ?

vercion of Nboot that these using is the one that correspond to nka_70?
another thing, you tried to install some vercion of nk35 to only try? I
have units both 7" and 3.5" and in both cases he installs ce6.0 without
problems, also he installs some verciones of the 5,0 and the same form
without problems. if all that does not work I am thinking that serious good
for trying to reinstate the vivi that it can be damaged

Martin
Thanks for you hep Andrées,

- I have tried using the Nk35 image but I got the same error.

The version comming on my CD-ROM is Windows CE 5.0 and not CE 6.0

I though that I had all the necessary thing on the CD-ROM to install
Windows CE ? Was I wrong ?

I don't understand really well how to update the vivi using J-TAG. It is
not clear... Do you have a complete procedure on how to proceed in English
or French ?

If I give my email address, is it possible for you to send me (as a complet
package) the following items :

 - An Image of Windows CE 6.0 / 5.0
 - Valid NBoot for Windows CE image
 - Valid vivi for NBoot

Because I've tried many combinaison on the web for thoses and nothing
nothing seems to work :(

PS : I know that Windows CE is coming with a licence but I would use
it only to test (migration) of one of our program that was running on
another ARM based device. Because we are already in late on our deadlines

Best regards
Martin

Try the WinCE image from ThaiEasyElec:

I have tried the evaluation version of Windows CE.

I get no error about "Invalid image" but now I'm getting the following
screen repeated error in DNW (SEE ATTACHMENT please)

What wrong with this device ?

Maybe the VIVI is corrupted ? I did tried any file I've found on the web
and no one is working. It is really frustrating :(

Martin
Hi,

I read the "Using H-JTAG" section of the PDF link you give
me(http://www.friendlyarm.net/dl.php?file=download.pdf).

But I don't have any JTAG cable that came with the package. The only
adapter the came with the package is the Parallel port. Thus, what type of
JTAG adapter do I need to do the SuperVivi update ?

asdsad
The JTAG adapter is only a small PCB with parallel port and 10pin JTAG
connector.

Martin
Is there any schematic of the PCB ?

Or maybe you have a product number to order it ?

Martin
I finally succed to install Windows CE on the unit.

You just select the option "w" and install the image of Windows CE 6.

Do not do the Nandflash format, or update the supervii "v", and does not
update the boot loader "v".

Everything works fine now ! Thanks

However, could you tell me how much is a license for Windows CE 6.0 ?
