LCD White and brightness

Hello

I just got a Mini2440 ARM9 Board with 3.5" LCD TD035STED4. The "LCD
Controller Board" is LCDT35-090618.

At the first boot, the lcd worked fine but, after playing with some qtopia
apps, i used the shutdown command and then my problem started.

The fact is that my LCD was too damn bright and the only way to see an
image on it, was by looking by some angle. 

At first i thought it was something related to the Backlight. But, after
looking at the "Lcd Controller Board" Schematics, i resolved to change
resistors R19 and R20 by one single 820R resistor.

Then the backlight became weaker, but the image is still hard to see.

Is there any configuration of Brightness and Contrast that LCD stores in
its memory? Does anybody had this problem before?

This seems to be a pretty commone problem I have seen quite a few posts of
people describing the exact same thing none of us have been able to get the
company to help or even respond ,, I think its a hardware problem like you
mine worked for the first 5 seconds I owned it no its worthless add to that
the chinese documents with the scattered english its been nightmare,, it
looks like such a good system for learning ARM and building projects its a
shame,, I wonder if this compnay thinks people are not going to spread the
word ,, I emailed there tech support here is the relp I recived back and I
quote

in today it looks like a very nice system but I am having a problem the
screen is bright white at first I thought it was just blank white but if
you hold the device on a very extreme angle you can actually see icons they
are in chinses so I do not know what to do is there anyway it can be
adjusted for english and a fix so I could actually see the screen? Thank

That is what they said back to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have heard nothing
else until I found this fourm

I think the LCD maybe bad for some reason, you can exchange it with the
seller. To change the lanugae, see here:

Q: I have a new Mini2440 with LCD. When I power on, Linux launches, but in
Chinese! How do I change it?

A: There are several tools that look like they should change the language
but only one will work. Select the tab that looks like a bunch of colored
baloons. There is a red icon easily mistaken as a beach chair. It is a
Chinese PRC flag, red with yellow star, waving horizontally over a Union
Jack. The Chinese characters say "Language Selection." Tap this icon and
choose English or Japanese. The Linux will restart when you are done.

i changed the LCD itself (and nothing more) and everything worked fine.... 

Neither the LCD Controller Board or the Flat cable were the problem.

(but i still think that the lcd stored a configuration that make it blank
all time... but i dont know how to check that)
